The bodhrán (pronounced bow-ran) or Irish frame drum has grown from its use in traditional Irish music to encompass many forms of Celtic, folk and contemporary roots music. In his workshops, Ragged Bear's own Steve Bentley covers a range of techniques including traditional and contemporary rhythms. He provides a number of different bodhráns and is happy to give advice on different models and makers, tippers (sticks) and applicable microphones.
